I haven't been out photographing much at all. I always end up doing something else; I'll say to myself the night before 'This is ridiculous, I have to do some photography tomorrow'. Well, as you can see that hasn't happened as the 'next day' usually consists of a friend calling me up and convincing me to do something else. Argh. Kinda makes me look forward to when most of them go off to Uni again. But I love them, I do.

Anyway, this summer has been amazing. Last big thing we did was Reading Festival, which was insane; first time for me and defiantly not the last. Ten of us managed to get in as volunteer workers which meant that we didn’t have to pay for a ticket, we got free food and drinks (yar), and we got to sleep in the staff camping area. Yes, the other camp sites are more fun but at the end of the day you want somewhere you can get a good nights sleep without the fear of being the poor bastard who gets his tent smashed in by an insanely drunk person in a shopping trolley being pushed around at 30 miles an hour (it happened and was so funny). Plus, you get to relieve yourself in an actual toilet rather than a hole in the ground disguised as a toilet. Anyway, can’t be bothered to go into anymore details as I don’t want to be sitting here for the rest of the night.

That’s all for now. I did actually manage to get out the other day and do some photography for a couple of hours but I’ve managed to misplace the cable that connects my camera to my laptop so until I find that, no photos.

The week I spent there with my friend Kyle was fantastic. We stayed with his Aunt (who also happens to be a retired actress) and Uncle who own a houseboat business in the Freeport of Hamburg.

During the day we worked on maintaining the boats which mainly consisted of carry around heavy things such as big stones to the hull of ships to weigh them down (Kyle and I came up with a brilliant system to do this more efficiently and faster) and other miscellaneous jobs in exchange for a bed for the night and food to eat. At the end of the day we went into Hamburg and enjoyed the amazing nightlife it has to offer. I find Hamburg to be a great city; the people are friendly, the girls are beautiful, the beer is exceptional and the graffiti is fantastic.

Unfortunately, as mentioned in my last entry my camera was being repaired so I couldn't get any shots. Kyle, however, did. On the upside though, upon my return I got a call and much to my surprise my camera had already been repaired. I picked it up 3 days ago but have been unable to take any new shots because of a party I went to on the day and crappy weather over the weekend. I should be getting back on track again soon.

I started this page because not only did I think it would come in handy but I also needed somewhere, other than under a Photoblog post, to let people know that my camera is broken.

Well, the entire camera isn't broken; the dial that adjusts the shutter speed and aperture has decided to stop working. I took it back to the shop yesterday in the hopes of receiving a replacement that I could temporarily use whilst mine was being fixed. I was disappointed.

So, I'm now without a camera for roughly '17-18 working days'; translation: 1 month. The timing couldn't have been worse. I'm going to Germany tomorrow with my friend Kyle for a week. This would have been a great opportunity to get some shots of, well, another country. Kyle, some other friends and I were also planning to go back to the Isle of White after Germany; the main purpose being for photography (at least for me and Kyle). Furthermore, I also have the opportunity to go stay in a castle in Scotland towards the end of August.

Thanks Fuji.
